HONG LEONG FINANCE NAMED SINGAPORE FINANCE COMPANY OF THE YEAR IN THE ASIAN BANKING & FINANCE RETAIL BANKING AWARDS 2011 Singapore, 20 July 2011 – Hong Leong Finance, Singapore’s largest finance company, will be conferred the “Singapore Finance Company of the Year†award at the Asian Banking & Finance Retail Banking Awards ceremony this evening. It is a double celebration for winning the award as the company also celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year, and also the second time the Group is picking up the award. The awards are organized by Charlton Media, publisher of Asian Banking & Finance and it recognizes financial institutions in Asia with the ‘best-of-the-best’ practices and with long standing excellence among the financial industry’s key players based on three key criteria – innovation, effectiveness and dynamism. With a rapidly changing business environment, Hong Leong Finance has remained creative to adapt to evolving customer needs. It is constantly enhancing its services to provide convenience and accessibility to customers. The latest innovative initiative was the opening of SME Centre@Branches to enhance its distribution network and bring itself closer to the business community in all parts of Singapore. Three centres at City Square Mall, Jurong East and Bedok have started operations with the fourth one at Yishun opening in end July. There are plans to set up more centres in areas with high concentration of business activities. Responding to the award, Mr Kwek Leng Beng, Chairman and Managing Director of Hong Leong Finance said “We are honored at the recognition of our dedication and commitment in driving service excellence for our customers. We believe in delivering service with sincerity. And this award affirms that our pursuit in providing relevant and customer-centric financial solutions is the right way to go in serving our customers.â€
